I actually already know what happens. Souls go into the Gate to eventually get reused as energy for alchemy. Although most of that comes from the version of Earth on the other side.

The options aren't the same across the board for everyone. Hells, heaven, higher planes of existence, reincarnation -- we have it all. The more you see, the more it makes the belief system I subscribed to as a kid feel really small.
