[Gabriel's hanging out in the bar. There's a tall glass of something bright next to him, half-demolished, but he doesn't seem to be paying it too much attention. His attention's on the video itself.

Watch out, Wonderland. You have a bored archangel on your hands. Anything could happen.]

Forget what, Wonderland? Or Heaven?

[He waves a hand idly.]

Heaven. From what I can tell, everyone gets to forget Wonderland.

Yeah, maybe. Doesn't mean I want to.

[ He clears his throat hastily. ]

I don't care what I remember about Heaven. It's a crappy place, and I've been there enough.

[Gabriel shrugs. Fairly casual, considering that Sam is essentially trashing his home. But there was a reason he left and didn't go back. And maybe he thinks the whole trapped-in-a-memory thing was pretty unimaginative, as far as humans went. They can do a lot more, if they put their minds to it.]

More than one person should, I agree. [Surprisingly.] Perspective's not all it's cracked up to be.

Not really. [ He sympathizes with Gabriel, knows that he was the only reason they'd really beaten down Lucifer. Still, he's older, he's tired, and there aren't a lot of good things waiting for him in the future. ]

You've been pretty quiet lately.

Mansion's been pretty quiet. And usually I like to change that, but... [Gabriel considers.] I did make a half-assed promise to behave myself. Not that I don't continually want to break it, buuuut hasn't happened yet. Dog's helped, I guess.

[Attending to something that needs food, water and exercise every day. He'd forgotten all about something like that.]

But the mansion usually causes us enough trouble.

[ ..... ]

Wait, what? What dog?

Christmas present. For good behavior, I guess.

[Grinning, Gabriel shifts the device so that the dog sitting nearby is in view. The young Jack Russell Terrier wags his tail.]

Say hi, Jormy!

What, from the mansion? [ The sight of the dog does break him down a little, though, and Sam actually cracks a faint smile. Damn, he misses dogs. ] What's the name from?

Jormungandr. Old... friend of mine.

[Putting it lightly. But hey, it's good to see Sam smile. It seems like the tallest Winchester has always had a scowl on his face, as of late.]

And yeah, I guess it was from the mansion. Pretty thoughtful, for a place that otherwise throws terror and confusion at us.

What, the Norse-- Oh. [ His eyebrows shoot up as the old, stored-away mythos knowledge dumps into his head, and then he... well, sort of sobers up. He can be highly sympathetic to Gabriel, after all the crap the guy's been through. Even if Sam hasn't ever really forgiven Mystery Spot. ]

... Right. [ There's a short exhale. ] Well, I think it's a stretch to call this place "thoughtful" in any situation.

[Gabriel just smiles wryly. It doesn't matter where you look, either in Heaven or on Earth... it's been a long time since he had an occasion to be truly happy. Wonderland's the closest it's come to, recently.]

Hurm, you might be right there. Maybe it was just trying to lure me into false security. Takes one to know one.

We always talk about the mansion like it's sentient. [ Beat. ] Sometimes I wonder if it's more responsible than the queens.

What makes you think it isn't? A place like this, with so many memories? Something's going on there.

I think it probably is. I mean, most people don't think of it that way. Maybe we should.
