[ The device turns on to a man looking just a hint disheveled, but overall he looks very mild and gathered. He's taken his time to calm down by now, after all. ]
Ah, hey, so I read the... [ He lifts the pamphlet and waves it a little, though not at all dismissively. ] ... this little brochure. Very helpful, actually, so thanks to whoever wrote it. And yeah, you guessed it, I'm new.
[ It might be a little difficult to tell whether or not he's being honest in his appreciation, but this time he really is. ]
So. Parallel universes, who would've thought. Guess stranger things could've happened. [ Except not really. But it's nice to think that. ] I won't bore any of you with questions, I got the gist of it by now.
But I'd like to know if there are any experts out there, if I can pick your brain. Not just on alternate realities, but space and time traveling, wormholes, portals, pocket universes - which is what I'm assuming this all is.
[ He sets the brochure aside and rubs a hand briefly down his face. ]
Because here's the thing - how does a place like this even happen? This is tiny, unbelievably so. Even if opening a wormhole that can actually travel across different dimensions without any visible devices or power source, how can it happen with several? Because for not just one or two universes, but dozens or hundreds of them to be converging here, and from fluctuating times and points within them, this place should be... I don't know, torn into pieces, disintegrating entirely. No laws of physics can explain this, and just - you know what, just spare me the speech on how physics don't work the same way here.
[ He's trying to keep it simple for the common listener, but just in case he didn't succeed, he adds as a final thought. ] This place is impossible.
[ Not that he won't try to make some sense of it, and for now at least seeing if he can find someone who'll help him with that seems like the best option. That, and finding a quiet corner where he can stay. ]
Thanks for listening. And for answering, if you do. [ He hesitates for a moment before he finally decides to add. ] Name's Bruce Banner, by the way.
[ Not that he has a lot of hope that he'll find someone here he knows, but... well, yesterday he'd have said something like this would be hilariously impossible. So who's to say. ]

Doctor Bruce Banner? [Whom Tony had been so very fond of after New York. She smiles, wondering if she should feel more guilty than glad to see a friendly face.] I'm Pepper Potts, of Stark Industries. [She starts off with the more formal introduction, since at present Pepper has no idea what Bruce has already experienced in their timeline.]
no subject
[ He'd visited Stark Tower, but somehow even then had never actually met Pepper. ] It's nice to meet you... even under these circumstances. How long have you been here?

[ She suspects that what she knows of such things from Arda will not be particularly useful to this man, but it still seems polite to offer. ]

[Not that Hannibal doesn't have an idea of physics, it's more that what small amount he does know came from 1950s text books. Sputnik hadn't even been launched yet.]
Or as it was once said, six impossible things before breakfast.

[ But it's crazy to think that anything in an adventure book about a girl falling through a rabbit hole could be interpreted literally. And Bruce has experienced a lot of crazy in his life. ]
Guess I better start believing some new things now.

[ Only, he knows more than a bit, so much more than just a bit, but it wouldn't do to just launch off on a tangent about everything he knows about the subject. ]
I'd agree with you, that this place is impossible, but I've always been rather fond of that. The impossible, I mean.
[ Whoever this Bruce Banner is, he's definitely piqued the Doctor's interest. ]
Hello, I'm the Doctor. And if it's all the same to you, I think I'd like to meet you in person. Nothing against talking like this, of course. It's just that you seem to know a lot about wormholes, and dimensions, and I can't help but wonder, how is it you know so much?
[ Fair warning, Bruce, the Doctor has a lot of questions, so any conversation with him might wind up taking a very long time. ]
video;
Oh, I... yeah, I'd like to meet you too. [ Very much. ] I'm a nuclear physicist, expert on gamma radiation but I also have some knowledge in wormholes, alternate dimensions, the like. [ For now that should more or less answer the Doctor's question.
The Doctor. Well, the pamphlet did mention something like this. ]
So you're... the Doctor. [ He tries really hard not to, but it's too good an opportunity to pass up. ] Doctor who?

Sir, it appears Dr. Banner has joined the party. Should I put you through?
Bruce is here? [Despite the fact that everyone knows he has control of the big green rage monster (somewhat), for a split second Tony's mind wanders to the idea of the Hulk smashing through the mansion and he makes a face. He hasn't heard any thunderous crashes or anything. That's...That's definitely a plus.] Yeah, bring it up.
[So when the feed cuts on, Tony breaks into a wide grin. He'd said the whole gang was turning up, and he wasn't wrong. And Bruce is definitely one he's glad to see.]
I know Rogers learned how to text finally, but you didn't have to come all this way for a boring meeting. I thought you were off in the wild doing your thing.
By the time Tony answers his video, Bruce's already spoken to a few people, and amongst other things he's been told who else is here. Still, it's nice to hear the familiar voice. ]
I was still in New York, actually, though... I guess that city works a little like a jungle too. [ Definitely crazier than a jungle, at least.] Pepper told me you were here. Couldn't wait to join the party?

::Ed leans back in his seat, making himself comfortable.::
Popular explanation for how the place works is magic. And given that there's magic-users here, it may actually be a viable explanation. Even if I'd rather have one that actually made any sort of scientific sense.

[She'd recognized the voice almost immediately, had let it draw her attention to her cell and even if his presence was a mixed blessing and curse, she was still relieved to see him. And curious as to why the team was still trickling in, but that was better served for another time.
He gets a crooked smile in greeting when she flips the video feed open.]
It's good to see you, despite the circumstances.
no subject
Sorry. You were all a little difficult to track down.
[ Despite the dry humor of his retort, he is glad to see her. In fact he's glad to see any familiar face right now, and he knows he and Natasha aren't particularly close, but they're still allies. That counts for something. ]
Likewise, Agent Romanoff. I was told I'd find you here too.

[ He smiles. Really, they have half the Avengers here and he'd thought that it was only a matter of time when so many people from their world were appearing in such a short time. ]
Those pamphlets are about as much as anyone seems to know about this place.
video;
[ Bruce smiles, but really it's just a coping mechanism right now. He'd been told Coulson was around so he at least had taken a little time to let that sink in. Of course that being faced with a man who's supposed to be dead is never something one's completely ready for. ]
That's okay. Right now I'd really like to know what happened to you. [ He tilts his head and squints at the camera. ] Pepper told me you're from after New York.

Steve isn't shocked, not anymore, though there is that moment of concern that comes with realizing what Bruce being here could mean for the rest of the mansion. Steve's seen Bruce control himself even when transformed, but that doesn't account for losing his grip on his emotions. With events shaking things up every few weeks, it's a possibility.
In a small area like Wonderland, it could be a problem. Not that any of that is Bruce's fault, but Steve has to keep it in mind.
Despite all that, Steve is glad to see Bruce, and he's well aware that he'll be a huge help here. A lot of the terminology goes right over Steve's head, though he's heard "pocket universe" and "wormhole" enough this week to make him dizzy.]
Not sure if you've heard from any of the others by now, but there's a few of us here.
[Three Avengers and a whole lot of other people connected to them. It seems like people are just going to keep streaming in.]
I think we're going to need all the help we can get, though. It's good to see you again, Dr. Banner.
They can play The Musketeers now.If Steve is aware of the seriousness and potential danger of this situation, then Bruce is all the more so. Every day since his accident at that lab has been constant worrying, and he's learned to somehow build his life around a big green monster that can jump out at the slightest of unexpected events.
This place is, for one, too small. That in itself is a problem already, and if that worried Bruce, then reading about these events has only made him more anxious. But before even thinking about any of it, he'll have to see exactly what he's dealing with, and who else around here can he trust in asking for any specific kind of information.
Steve's a good bet, depending on how long he's been in this place. ]
Good to see you too, Captain. [ He nods in greeting. ] Pepper told me I'd find you here, yeah. Help with what exactly?

She instantly becomes more alert, starting the video feed with a smile.]
Hi Dr. Banner - I'm Darcy - Thor's friend and Dr. Jane Foster's intern. There a butt-load of people from our world here if they haven't already reached out to you, as well as Jane. I'm sure she'd be more than happy to talk physics with you.
video;
[ There's still Loki, but he'd rather that one didn't reach out for him anytime soon. Or ever. Which now brings him to his next topic. ]
Pepper mentioned you. [ Or her encounter with Loki, but offered no details. ] Are you okay?
