7th Bad Idea [Video]
[ The video broadcast is made at an uncomfortable 4 AM and for those who were around for the superhero Gotham event, it might be a familiar sight. It's Isaac, but he's dressed up in a suit and tie, donning a pair of sunglasses. ]
...Great.
[ The face he's making however says that it is indeed not great. This is made completely clear by him pulling the sunglasses off. ]
Anyone noticed this place likes to pull you back at the most inopportune times?
[ That's it, that's the video broadcast. ]

[ That's it, that's the video broadcast. ]
[ video ]
[ He's not fond of that idea in the least. ]
It's been five, no, six days now.
[ Not very long, in other words. ]
[ video ]
[ Isaac wouldn't feel so bad for him if he knew the guy was a time traveling alien, but y'know. ]
So you're new.
[ Great, he's just getting back and he is still one to give the Welcome to Wonderhell, lions, tigers and bears, oh my! speech. Not that he minds too much. ]
This place can send you back, bring you back, erase memories, bring you back from the dead and even bring your friends here. Generally - uh - my rule of thumb is if you can think it -- it can do it.
[ He's not normally this chatty, especially with strangers but there are things he'd wished he knew when he'd been dragged here. ]
[ video ]
[ It's more than he's mildly annoyed by this. People should not be plucked up from their lives and trapped somewhere like this. It's not right, but so far as he can tell, there's little he can do about it. It doesn't mean he won't try, however. ]
Yeah, a little.
[ He's already heard the gist of the welcome speech, if that's a thing, though it was dampened a bit by the Weeping Angels. ]
So I've heard. I don't much like it, but I'm beginning to think that doesn't matter so much.
[ video ]
[ The teenager shrugs. ]
None of us really like it, but there's not much we can do.
[ It's true and it sucks in Isaac's opinion. But at this point, with all that's happened here? Isaac isn't sure if he prefers here to what's back home. Then again, there is always the chance that his dad could just pop up out of the blue. ]
[ video ]
[ But he shrugs as well. ]
And unless there's a way to will ourselves back to where we came from, I'm also thinking we just have to deal with what's tolerable about the situation and fight back when things get thrown at us.
[ It's not really the ideal thing, or an ideal existence, but what else can they do? ]
[ video ]
[ The memory draws creases in his forehead as arched eyebrows knit together, the pain of the memories washing over him as if he were reliving it. ]
But for now, as far as I'm aware, none of us know how to get back.
[ Really, there's nothing else they can do. ]
So... You're - uh - British, right?
[ video ]
Well, no, I wasn't, and I'm very sorry you had to experience that.
[ Concern causes his eyebrows to knit together, because it does not take a genius to tell that it's an unpleasant memory. ]
And as for that, well...
[ Again, he has that internal debate with himself about how forthcoming he should be. ]
Sort of, yeah.
[ It's not a satisfactory answer, but it'll have to do for the moment. ]
[ video ]
[ Isaac gives him a small smile before his face shifts to something more curious. ]
Sort of British. Okay. I've heard weirder, I guess.
[Dual citizenship is a thing after all, but Wonderland had a way of being completely bizarre, it's really sort of best to just start rolling with it. Especially after meeting angels. ]
Usually people help with that stuff though - the zombies I mean. Or just events in general.
[ video ]
[ It's odd, but he's both excited and dreading experiencing his first really terrible event, just to see the limits that Wonderland is capable of going to. ]
I would hope so. I mean, here we are, all in the same situation, with not really much of an advantage, or so it seems. It's better if we work together, although I know that doesn't always end up happening.
[ video ]
[ He blinks for a moment -- thinking.]
But sometimes even with this place like it is some stability is a good thing...
[Allison, Scott, Derek, Stiles, Cora, Lydia... There's stability of his pack, and he's thankful for it. Without them he's not sure what he'd do. ]
Yeah, that's true. But there are still some - uh - not so helpful people here too...
[ He pauses for a short moment. ]
I'm Isaac by the way.
[ video ]
[ And being bored is quite possibly his least favorite state of being. ]
I agree, though, at least a little. I wouldn't want everything to be predictable all the time, but sometimes, a little predictability is nice.
[ Says the man who rarely puts down roots anywhere, but he can appreciate a bit of a pattern, so long as it's just that: a bit. ]
There's going to be those types everywhere, of course. Nice to meet you, Isaac. I'm the Doctor.
[ video ]
The Doctor? [ He looks so unsure... ] What, are you a superhero or something? Like Iron Man?
[ Ever had that guess before, Doctor? ]
[ video ]
No, not a superhero, just someone who tries to help make people better.
[ "Tries" being the operative word, but he really does want to help people. And, no, he's never had that as a guess before. Ten points to you, Isaac. ]
i am so sorry i am as slow as a slug
What's with the 'the'? Isn't that what all doctors do?
[ Is this guy something weird like Deaton? ]
nonsense~ I don't mind
[ Time to put the cards on the table. ]
I'm actually a time traveler.
c:
[ The stare Isaac gives either says that he doesn't believe the guy, or he's just so unfazed by Wonderland these days that he just accepts it. ]
Yeah, and I'm a werewolf.
[ Okay, so that might be true, but the way he says it so sarcastically, well, to anyone that doesn't know he's just being his sarcastic little self. ]
We have a space marine here, I'm sure you two would get along.
no subject
[ Rather than being scared or confused or no longer wanting anything to do with this conversation, the Doctor's just grinning. ]
I met a werewolf, once when I was in Scotland. Well, it's proper title was Lupine Wavelength Haemovariform, but the idea's the same, with or without the name.
[ Except when Isaac says he's a werewolf, the Doctor's default stance is to believe him until told otherwise. ]
If you mean Agent Washington, I've met him.
no subject
You met a werewolf once? Lupine Wavelength Ha-what?
[ Is he serious? He sounds serious... ]
What - are you a hunter?
[ This is a really bad way to get a werewolf to admit to being one if he is... ]
Yeah, that's who I meant.
no subject
[ He draws out that last part, enunciating each syllable. ]
No, not a hunter, just a traveler who had some really good timing. Or luck. Perhaps it was luck.
[ He smiles a bit, recalling the conversation he had with the agent. ]
Nice bloke. A bit curious, but aren't we all?
no subject
[ He's glad, the man dropped the question though. ]
Most people don't think meeting a werewolf is a lucky thing.
[ Yeah, thinking about it, Wash is rather curious. ]
My dad used to say curiosity is a good trait. Means you learn more.
no subject
[ You should hear him rattle off the name of the planet the Slitheen family came from: Raxacoricofallapatorious. It's even more of a mouthful. ]
Well, maybe not lucky, but it was so fascinating, the time I did meet one.
[ Everything in the Doctor's mind is fascinating, even things that most people would dismiss as terribly mundane. ]
Your dad was very smart, then. Curiosity's great, and so is learning.
