[The network is greeted with a set of high cheekbones covered in deathly pale skin. Well, there are more than cheekbones to the face, but they're probably his most prominent feature. He's scowling somewhat and if one looked closely, he seemed to be... smoking? Not in the traditional sense. He does that, too, but that's not what's happening right now. More like some kind of fire had been put out under his black trench coat. Said black trench coat was pulled up over his head as if it were raining and that was his only source of cover. However, it's quite obviously not raining. But for now, he was holed up in the shade of the orchard.]

If this is someone's idea of a sodding joke, let me be the first to tell you; no one's laughing! And anyone I catch laughing will have their throat torn out! Bugger the chip! The head ache will be well worth it!

[The feed cuts out and he's about to chuck the device across the field, but... he stops. Re-engages the video feed with a slightly calmer demeanour, almost trying to pretend he didn't just have a little temper tantrum.]

Right! Well. On that chipper note, where the bloody hell am I? Because Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas any more.

[Skye, is first looking down when the feed clicks on and then she looks up, all wide eyed wonder.]

There we go.

Okay. So this is not the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me.

And that's really saying a lot.

[She looks up and around, because she's still trying to figure out where all she is. And recognizes approximately nothing. And the helpful little info packet only made her more confused.]

Still I have to get back? It's not like I get paid vacation time and I am pretty sure that no matter what is going on here, it's weirder back home. So if I could get directed….somewhere to the nearest shuttle back to normal that would be awesome.

[Skye smiles, somewhat mostly because she's not going to be a total jerk just because this is not her favorite thing that's every happened.]

Thanks.

[So, Storybrooke. That was a thing. Well, at least everything's back to normal, we all have our memories, Saki Hanajima is her usual blank-faced monotone self-]

TOHRUUU!

[... or not. See, before the event, Saki was vampire food. Repeatedly. And now that she remembers, she's hysterically scrambling to find a safe place to hide, and to find her beloved best friend. As a result, the girl who typically never shows emotions is now a screaming, crying mess. She's running down the hallways, occasionally tripping over herself due to how fast she's going. She clutches the device in both hands, sobbing and yelling into it.]

Oh God, oh God, oh God... Don't go near Angel! Stay away from him! He... he... he killed me! He's going to do it again! I don't want to die again! Tohru! Tohruuu!

[And she trips again, this time falling on the floor, the device bouncing off and away. She groans, pulling at her hair.]

Nnngh... W-what's the point of these damn powers.... if I can't... Oh, God, I'm sorry, Tohru! I should have stopped him!  I should have... Oooh, Tohru... I promised, and I still didn't...

[When the feed clicks on, the gardens are visible behind Regina. She'd debated doing this from a random room on a random floor, somewhere people couldn't find her if they were angry about the event, but it was a Wednesday. She's glad she took the chance to visit her father's grave while they were in the facsimile of Storybrooke. If she'd waited until Wednesday like she used to, she would have missed out. So no hiding in a room for fear of retribution, she's out in the gardens to honour her father's memory.]

Hello, Wonderland. [She swallows, a frown marring her face.] No doubt some of you know what the last event was, or at least that it was a small town in-- [... Oh. Weird. She can't think of the word, like there's a gap in her memory again.] For those of you that don't, it was Storybrooke. The home of quite a few of us here in Wonderland.

[There'd been a small explosion of their numbers, before it evened out a little. When she continues, her voice is level, almost flat. She's uneasy about admitting this, but others have explained when events were theirs, she could at least do the same. Besides, it isn't as if she regrets ever casting it in the first place, for Wonderland to take and twist it against them.]

It was created by a curse, the Dark Curse. [There's a brief pause, as she debates what to say next.] It was cast to punish someone, to ensure she never got her own happy ending. Everybody else was just collateral damage.

[Which isn't entirely true. Jefferson certainly wasn't, neither was Whale. ]

Almost everybody caught in the path of the curse had their memories, their lives, ripped away from them until they were barely recognisable. They had no goals, no dreams, no hope. They just... were.

[Which is as horrible as it sounds, but that's besides the point.]

Wonderland's version of Storybrooke wasn't entirely accurate, [Which is almost upsetting, the least it could've done was given her access to the full contents of her vault.] and while I can hope that extended to the false memories you were all given, we all know enough about Wonderland to know it would be a waste of time. [She shrugs, the corner of her mouth turning up into an unpleasant smile.] At least it was only 5 days.

['Instead of 28 years' is left unsaid, but those in the know will understand.]

For most of you, Storybrooke was just another event. You'll get over it.

[The broadcast ends shortly afterwards, though she doesn't bother to move from the gardens.]

Halloween's tricky because no one's totally sure where it started; most people insist it's All Hallow's Eve and part of a Christian triduum that grew separate of things like Samhain, but that's probably because they don't want the association with pagan roots. Personally, I'm sure it started with pagan festivals, and you see a lot of that in the traditions. Jack-o-lanterns to scare off the visiting souls of the dead, masks to protect people from spirits, et cetera. Dressing up's also supposed to be making fun of the monsters, but I'm pretty sure that'd just piss them off.

[ Beat. ] It's not that significant a day when every day's pretty much Halloween, but the history's still interesting. My Storybrooke counterpart had the right idea; I'm gonna see if I can find anything good in the library if anyone's interested in learning more.

[A wall communication unit on the Third Floor near the stairs flickered on. It was just as well since it was easiest to use after that blur all of what seemed like five seconds ago. Minato just had to be careful not to get blood all over it.]

Someone's out there with a sword. Brown hair, brown eyes. She's new... and doesn't understand.

[Really, he had just been coming back from the Music Room after violin practice, and was surprised to see someone (one Faith Lehane) walk out of his room. That was a surprise. The only explanation he could think of was that she was new and had happened to show up there. There, in his room, of all places.

And perhaps he had been standing in the hallway and in her way for a little too long since he was greeted with her rushing him and driving his sword through his stomach then out before she escaped.]

... Please don't hurt her. Just be careful.

[That was the best he could do to warn people. He'd go after her once he could to find out if she was okay. But for now, he had one hand on his stomach, the other at the wall for support, and was just trying to get back to his room per his original plan.

This is the last time he leaves anywhere without his comm device and his Evoker.]

[Filtered Away from Angelus]

[The feed opens up in a very matter of fact sort of voice.]

So, a little less than a weke in Wonderland and I already got to live in some sort of Twilight Zone town for a bit. That was a thing. But not the thing I'm here to talk about. Why yes, I'm aware I've been here before and no I don't remember it. But for those who don't know me I'm Cordelia Chase and I have a message/warning for the people here.

So there's this guy from my world, Angel. He's the big dumb hero type with the world's largest forehead and he tends to use a little too much hair gel. I don't know how long he's been here in Wonderland but the guy who you all think is Angel? Yeah, that's Angelus, and he is a not a good guy. Sociopathic bloodsucker is more like it.

See, vampires in my world don't have souls, typically. But Angelus pissed off the wrong set of gypsies and he got cursed with one hence Angel -- but when he experiences a moment of true happiness the curse breaks and he goes back to his much more evil form. That must of been what happened even if I can't figure out what or who could given him perfect bliss.

The point is if you see Angel? You need to run, he will torture you, he will kill you, and he's extremely dangerous. Until we get a soul back in him he's a threat to everyone.

Speaking of that -- are there any witches I can talk to? If only Willow were here -- she actually knows the spell but we have to do with what we have sometimes.

[Do your reading before you start asking questions. It's something that gets beaten into you in the clinical half of medical school, Maxine guesses, as she catches herself scrolling back through the network for going on half an hour before supposing that maybe she might want to post to it herself.

There hadn't seemed a real rush, though. The view from the roof is both impressive and almost disorientingly free of zombies, and once the odds of being bitten, shot, or otherwise endangered had proved to be apparently minimal, there was all the time in the world to sit and think through her situation.]

Okay, then. [She looks down at the device in her hands, bemused and uncertain. Communicating with actual video feels like something from a lifetime ago.] I guess the only real option is to jump right in, huh? It looks like I'm not the only new person here, but hey. It's kind of nice seeing the consensus answers to the questions I was going to ask myself.

Anyway, I'm Doctor Maxine Myers, from . . . Abel Township? England? Chicago, America, Earth? And, uh. If there's a local barter economy, I'm glad to work as a medic. Heck, even if there isn't a barter economy. If all of this didn't make me crazy, retiring probably would.
