I don't suppose anyone's given any more thought to what happened before we were all forced to trick or treat.

[No, not the gravity thing. Zelena doesn't care about that aside from being annoyed that it happened to begin with.]

Unless you've all managed to deal with it quietly, but I've been here long enough to know that when something big happens, it's far from quiet. So then, the way I see it, either you're all still looking for that supposed spy and made absolutely no progress.

[She's sticking to voice, but the amusement in her tone probably makes it clear that she finds that hilarious.]

Or you've simply given up, and decided to ignore it. Can't say that would surprise me either, though it's a bit disappointing. Here I was hoping you'd all provide some sort of entertainment by accusing and turning on each other. But no, I suppose that's really just too much to ask, isn't it?

[Oh hi, she's...not entirely sure how she feels about seeing Bill on her screen, but it's better than making faces at nothing.]

Don't suppose you know the answer to that one? The Queen of Hearts I'm familiar with isn't any more skilled with memory loss than anyone else from my world that dabbles in these things. Can't say I know how Wonderland's compares.

[And there's a scowl here because ugh, Cora.]

There was a rather unpleasant monster some time ago that ate memories, but as far as I know, it's long gone.

[Bill lazily waves off the question.]

"An INFINITE amount of UNIVERSES with INFINITE altering timelines determined by an INFINITE amount of variables resulting in INFINITE versions of her-- So PROBABLY! I know there is ONE where she has SIX HEADS and is PERPETUALLY on FIRE! Don't even get me STARTED on the one in 21/22--"

[He'll zero in on that focus later. Besides! Sometimes a guy just WANTS to have a CONVERSATION!]

"But Nevermind that--"

[That last bit she said is far more interesting.]

"We talkin' ole JIBBERJABS, right?"

[Bill pays little mind to the scowl; whatever passes for a frown when your main facial feature is a COLOSSAL EYE subtly crossing over his own expression as well. The demon feels information about the creature seeping into his own subconscious, but the thoughts are hard to grab, falling through his focus like quicksand. Now that she mentions it, Bill wonders why he never considered the option before. Could something more be at work here? After glancing away his gaze returns.]

"So. No one REMEMBERS where the thing that ATE MEMORIES SKULKED OFF TO? awfully CONVENIENT, that."

Can't say where it particularly went. Dead, I think.

[She remembers some nonsense about a sword and some other things, but mostly there's the memory of lighting a number of tiny things on fire. And it's not entirely Wonderland's fault either. It's more that it happened, Zelena sort of went well that's over and had nothing to do with me, and resumed her sad miserable life of grumbling about other people's existence.]

I don't think I particularly care either. Call me self-centered if you'd like, but unless it starts trouble with me, it's hardly my concern.

[...and if it has, she certainly doesn't remember it, so there's that.]

"And what makes you think it would let you remember if it did?"

[Bill whispers the words- well, as well as a triangle who shouts every syllable is able- as if plucking them straight from Zelena's lingering thoughts.]

"Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the 'DON'T SCRATCH BACK unless TWICE BITTEN' standard. I got nothin' against another fella STICKIN' it to the ESTABLISHMENT, but memories don't just disappear. They can be LOST to the USER, STOLEN from their ORIGIN, but it takes a GREAT FEAT to LIBERATE them from EXISTING completely!"

[They could be lost to PEOPLE- Not to HIM.]

"I mean, you've pulled up memories from a SOURCE that wasn't your OWN MIND, haven't you? If JAB n' WOK's wielding THAT kinda power, something tells me it has more ANSWERS than her QUEENLY HEART-SHIP's Spy brigade."

[That's just going to get a frown because she was just thinking that. Don't do that, it's creepy.]

So let's say that's the case.

[She's definitely irked about him knowing that. It's not exactly a secret that she's seen her past in Oz (thanks Walsh), but hearing it referenced from someone she's never met is definitely something else. Though on some level, she's actually...glad? Better someone eavesdrop on the real story than ask her about Dorothy and her stupid dog.]

How exactly would one get answers out of something that hasn't been seen, and from what I've heard, certainly wasn't very talkative when it was around?

"I may be PLENTY TALKATIVE but I CAN'T BE SEEN EITHER. There's WAYS."

[Maybe there were some perks to being stuck in Wonderland's web of a Mindscape.]

"EVERYTHING wants SOMETHING. It's just a question of using SUITABLE BAIT."

And that bait, would be what? Can't say I like the idea of being bait, but I hardly think you're talking about me.

[Haha, because what on earth would take that bait, right?

...she's totally not upset about that thought.]

"Whoa, WHOA! Lady! Do I LOOK like the KIND of GUY who would SACRIFICE others for my OWN AGENDA?"

[Judging by the way he could barely get through that sentence without laughter, she is obviously correct in that assumption.]

"Nah, if you HAVE been snacked on already, don't see why it come back for seconds."

[And here's the hardest part to admit. Bill summons a martini out of the air, to swallow down some liquor along with his pride.]

"That's the HITCH. If the GENERAL POPULOUS of this COLLECTIVE GATHERING don't remember something, I don't seem to KNOW it EITHER. Something about this place is BLOCKING my normally PERFECT view."

[And if it isn't frustrating as all get out!]

"But if it turns out Queenie's spy IS conscious of their efforts, and she does grant them any form of immunity..."

[Wouldn't someone who has memories no one else does, be rather tempting?]

Use them as bait to lure out the creature. Have to say that's quite the idea.

[It sounds like a giant disaster, and not necessarily one she's here for, but she can certainly appreciate the triangle's willingness to think big and go in a direction that most people wouldn't think to go.]

But what do you mean about Wonderland blocking you? From what you said, it sounds like you can read our thoughts, which do me a favor, stay out of mine.

[Not that she has any important thoughts anyway. It's just a mess of angry thoughts about everything for the most part.]

I suppose you can see beyond that, then? Normally, anyway. Wonderland has a habit of keeping us from doing what we'd like to. Rather annoying, actually.

[Bill can only chuckle at the accusation. Whoops! Cat's outta the bag on that one.]

"HeheHEHEHE! You'd be SURPRISED how long it takes SOME to CATCH ON."

[No promises~]

"I'm PRIVY to the VAST KNOWLEDGE of the ENTIRE COSMOS. THIS WORLD, THE WORLD BEYOND, and several INCONSEQUENTIAL ones stuck in REALMS between are all CLEARER to me than the FINEST GLASS SOAKED IN BLEACH. PEERING in YOUR HEADS is FUN and ALL, but I don't have to READ minds to always KNOW what I KNOW."

[He just has to 'remember' he already knows it. One needs to first know the question before they know to look for the answer.]

"With this dimension's MEMORY ALTERING properties not GIVIN UP THE GOODS, my capacity is LIMITED to the COMBINED thoughts of every MORTAL being here; with some exceptions- though knowing the FLORA on the 8th RING in the ZARDA SYSTEM isn't GOOD for MUCH here."

[But never mind his powers. Wonderland has a habit of keeping people from doing what they like eh?]

"Any special RESTRICTIONS Queenie's PUT OUT on YOU?"

Not her, more Wonderland itself. Doesn't matter how hard you try, but it doesn't seem like you can open a portal to another realm.

[And she definitely tried hard. Anybody else here try to open a time portal by using their cast as totems? No, she doesn't think so.]

Hardly as limiting as what seems to have been done to you, but it's certainly a drawback.

[Because she doesn't even know what this Zarda system realm is, so yeah, she's not really going to say much more than wow, that sucks buddy.]

[Its funny she calls it a 'portal' specifically. Bill's eye flashes to the floor with the Pine's lab just for a moment as he thinks of the one they are building.]

"THERE ARE WAYS."

[Not GOOD ways. Or any ways that are POSSIBLE yet but ways.]

"WHETHER its by CHOICE or NOT. People DO leave here and RETURN. Where THERE is a SOURCE, there is a WAY to MANIPULATE IT."

[But that's the best he's got for now.]

"SOME MAJOR CHANGES have to HAPPEN before anything gets done but EVERYTHING CHANGES one way or another. I'LL BE WATCHING FOR IT."

For what it's worth, I'll keep an eye on things too. Hardly omniscient or able to do what you do, but if something happens that benefits me, well, I'm hardly the type to ignore it.
