[ Ding, dong, sketchy teenager alert! What was obviously a fumble causes a video broadcast - it's dark out, at first all that can be seen is the night sky and the tops of trees - someone is out in the forest. And then suddenly a familiar face comes into view; Isaac looks tired and just a little too unfazed by life in general. But despite the look, he mutters a minor obscenity under his breath before reaching down to grab his phone.

As he stands back up the moonlight catches in the reflection of his night-vision - causing his eyes to look a bright yellow for a moment, blinking it away as if he doesn't even notice he offers the network an unwavering stare.
]

Has anyone else been feeling - different lately?

[ Maybe Wonderland's up to something, he's not sure, either way, the freaky glow-y eye thing is definitely not normal but apparently something he didn't notice. ]

[He wants to go home.

Most of them want that, but in Isaac's case it may not be the best idea. So Scott must not have told him about his ultimate fate, that he ends up dead -- or at least, that's how Castiel understood it.

It's not his business and he won't get involved in that way.]

It shows. Your eyes don't usually glow in that way. What does it mean?

[If there's a chance that Isaac might turn, if he's somehow without his anchor (a concept Castiel understands all too well now), then they'll need to do something about that.]

[Castiel isn't able to tell if Isaac's simply uninformed about how certain things work for werewolves in his world, or if this is unprecedented. Derek had seemed to be the most knowledgeable of all of them when it came to this sort of thing, and he's no longer here, which means that it's an unknown variable.]

They were gold, if that means anything to you.

[But Isaac doesn't seem to know much, and there's a much simpler way to get to the bottom of this, beyond speculating.]

If we talk face-to-face, I may be able to sense what's wrong.

[Provided it's anything more than being overtired.]

[Alpha and beta. The implication of an alpha is clear enough, but what does a beta do, other than follow? Castiel could ask for a lesson on the dynamics of werewolf culture where Isaac comes from, but now doesn't seem to be the time.

That gold is a deeper, richer color than what he'd seen before. There's something more to this, and he intends to get to the bottom of it.

Castiel cuts the feed and then takes flight -- it's freeing, to have proper control of his wings again after that event. He appears a few feet away from Isaac at his chosen spot in the woods.]

Hello, Isaac. [He'll give him a moment to adjust before jumping right into the soul-searching part of this meeting.]

[It's not as if this is the first time that Castiel has dropped in on Isaac like this, and yet he reacts as if that's the case. Castiel notices the tension in Isaac's arms and shoulders before he loosens up again.

He's overly paranoid. Almost like a lesser version of what Dean had experienced during that event. Maybe it is some holdover after all.

The exhaustion Isaac's feeling is more obvious in person, although even when Castiel tries to take a deeper look at him, all he can pick up is the usual information about his monstrous nature.

He steps closer, then tilts his head at him -- intrigued.]
Can you explain in more detail what it is that you're feeling?

[Isaac has made reference to his father before, and none of what Castiel has heard sounds good. It had been an unhealthy situation, especially if Isaac had seen becoming a werewolf and joining a pack as the better option.

The symptoms that Isaac lists are certainly alarming, if he's having murderous thoughts, even about people who supposedly deserve it. Castiel isn't going to get into an argument about who does or doesn't deserve to die, but...

This isn't normal. Issac is usually a gentle type (for a werewolf), more interested in following the lead of one of the other werewolves.

He's burning up with this murderous intent, though, and something must be causing it. Castiel eyes Isaac for a few more seconds and then shakes his head. He needs to delve deeper if he wants to get to the bottom of it.]

I need to get a closer look at your soul, in order to diagnose what's been done to you.

[Castiel can't be certain that it's a problem with Isaac's soul that's causing this, but the symptoms fit and given that Isaac is also from a world filled with supernatural things, it's well within the realm of possibility. Unfortunately, there's only one way to know for certain, and it's invasive.

He can see that Isaac's uncertain about the idea, though who wouldn't be? Adam had been much the same, if not even more paranoid given his past experience with angels.

At the question, Castiel purses his lips and shakes his head.]
I don't know, but a soul can be altered or tainted by someone powerful enough.

[There are, of course, a number of warnings that he has to issue first. Castiel crosses his arms and his eyes skate over Isaac.] It's a painful process, but shouldn't leave any lasting damage. [Castiel has become practiced in it at this point and he's confident in his abilities to not harm Isaac in any permanent way.]

[That's a loaded question. It's dangerous if an angel who isn't experienced tries it, but Castiel's gone through this a few times now and he hasn't had any problems.

But in light of what happened during this past event, where he'd been unable to stop himself from hurting people, there is that moment of hesitation where he wonders if this is really the best idea. But if he doesn't do it, Isaac may end up hurting someone against his own will, so--]

Painful as in I'll be forcing my arm into your body. It won't leave any wounds after the fact, but that's what it'll feel like.

[He has no issue with giving full disclosure. In the end, it is Isaac's choice, but Castiel doesn't think that he'll be any better off if he refuses.]

[At the first question, Castiel quickly shakes his head, the action so sudden that it sends a bird in a nearby tree flying off. Sometimes he thinks that animals can sense things about him that humans can't, but that's irrelevant right now.]

No, this isn't the same as smiting. [Isaac seems to trust him, at least, which is good. It's not as if Castiel has ever given him any reason not to, but then again, Isaac isn't acting completely rational right now.

The second question he isn't able to give as immediate or concrete of an answer. Castiel's silent for a few moments and even when he replies, he isn't looking directly at Isaac.]
I can't promise that, but that's the hope, yes.

[Now that he's explained everything, there really isn't any time to waste. He lifts his head up and fixes Isaac with a surprisingly calm stare.] Are you ready?
freewill: (of the future we see)

no worries!!

[personal profile] freewill 2015-01-06 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's not a particularly confident agreement, but it's the best that Castiel can expect given the circumstances, so he nods.

He's not about to do this in the middle of the woods, though. For one thing, Isaac should be seated for this, given that the pain may cause his knees to buckle. For another thing, this is something that should remain private, and given that they're already in the forest, there's an obvious solution.]

We should move into the bunker, so that we're not out in the open when I do this. [It's where he'd gone through this process with Adam, and it had worked well enough.

A pause, then, and he tilts his head at Isaac.]
I can fly us, if you don't mind. [It's more warning than he usually gives, but he doesn't want to set off a werewolf that's already on edge.]
